About this site

Holly Tree Cottage is a small Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location at Gunthwaite Top Farm in Upper Denby, on the eastern slopes of the Pennines near Denby Dale, West Yorkshire. The site looks out over open countryside and sits along the Pennine Trail, with footpaths and circular walks leading straight from the gate, including routes to two nearby reservoirs. Denby Dale, about 1.5 miles away, has shops, cafés, restaurants and a train station, while Clayton West and the Kirklees Light Railway, now Whistlestop Valley, are close by for a family day out. As a CL, Holly Tree Cottage takes up to five caravans or motorhomes, so it stays quiet, and it welcomes children and well behaved dogs. Grass and hardstanding pitches are available, some sloping so levelling blocks help, and each has a 16 amp electric hook-up with room for awnings. There are no toilet or shower facilities on site, so a self-contained van suits best. A pub serving home-made pie and peas is a two minute walk, with a children's play area behind it. This is a members site open all year, run by Ashley and Alison, and booking is arranged directly through the Caravan and Motorhome Club, so it is worth joining if you plan to tour.
