Why campers love it here
About this site
Elmstone Farm sits on flat, open farmland at Thorpe in Balne, in the low-lying country north of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. It is a certificated site of the Camping and Caravanning Club, a small members' field that takes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents without an electric supply, so campers arrive self-contained. What it offers is calm and dark rural nights away from busy roads, with level lanes through the Went and Don valleys for gentle cycling and walking. The A1 and A19 are both close for longer trips north, and Doncaster, about eight miles south, has the shops, the racecourse and mainline trains, with Barnby Dun and Askern nearer for a shop or a pub. Dogs are not taken here, which keeps the field peaceful for everyone else. Little about Elmstone Farm is published online, so ring ahead to check it is open and to arrange a pitch, and note you will need Camping and Caravanning Club membership to stay.
