Why campers love it here
About this site
Higher Aunemouth Farm is a rustic, family-run campsite on a working farm at Bantham, near Kingsbridge in the South Hams of South Devon, roughly a quarter of a mile and a 20-minute walk from Bantham Beach. The same family has farmed here for three generations and taken campers since the late 1960s, and it shows in the pared-back approach: wide grassy fields, basic facilities and no electric hook-ups. Camping spreads across three fields through the season; the tree-lined Tree Field opens from April, an overflow field with moor and partial sea views follows from early May, and Williams Field adds four pitches with sea views, a field kitchen and firebowls later in spring. It takes tents, campervans and caravans, and dogs are welcome, so it suits campers after a quiet, wild-feeling stay with sea air and views rather than a manicured park with a shop and pool. Bantham is one of Devon's best surf beaches, with Thurlestone, Bigbury and the River Avon close by, and Kingsbridge about four and a half miles away for shops and supplies. The South West Coast Path is on the doorstep for walkers. Higher Aunemouth Farm runs a seasonal operation from roughly spring into autumn, with fields opening at different times, and pitches are booked directly with the farm. Come for simple, scenic camping near Bantham, and bring everything you need.
