About this site

Holeacre is a one-acre Certificated Location inside Dartmoor National Park at Dunsford, about ten miles west of Exeter in Devon. Level and neatly kept, it takes five caravans or motorhomes on cut grass and some hardstanding, with 16-amp electric hook-ups and panoramic views out to the moor; it is open all year and reception for TV and mobile is good. Tents are not accepted and, as a Caravan and Motorhome Club site, it is for members. The real draw is the space around it: twenty-four acres of adjoining grassland are open for walking the dog, and an information hut with maps and local guides helps you make the most of it. Deer, fox, buzzard, skylark and woodpecker are all regularly seen, and riverside walks start from Clifford Bridge a mile away. The thatched village of Dunsford sits two miles off, with the daffodils and bluebells of Dunsford Nature Reserve nearby. Holeacre suits members and keen walkers who want a quiet Dartmoor base near Exeter rather than facilities on tap. Book through the Caravan and Motorhome Club.
