About this site

Horseshoe Lake Fishing and Caravan Site is a small, quiet touring site set in a lawned orchard beside its own coarse fishing lake at Wales, near the Rother Valley on the Sheffield and Rotherham border in South Yorkshire. There are around five level pitches, each with an electric hook-up, plus a shower and toilet with disabled access and a waste-water point. It takes caravans and motorhomes rather than tents, and the fishing lake is the reason most people come, with pitches a short walk from the water. Dogs are not accepted, which keeps the orchard and the lakeside calm for anglers. The location is handy, with Rother Valley Country Park and its lakes and trails a mile or two north-west and Gulliver's Valley theme park close by for a family day out. Sheffield is about eight miles west and Rotherham a similar distance north. This is a peaceful, fishing-first spot for tourers rather than a big family park. Horseshoe Lake has no website of its own, so book by phone or through its Facebook page, and check the current fishing rules when you arrive.
