About this site

Leacroft Touring Park is a family-run touring and camping park at Colyton in East Devon, a short drive from the Jurassic Coast at Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth. The gently sloping grounds are broken up by hedges into smaller groups of pitches, which gives each spot a bit more privacy, and on clear days some areas look out across Lyme Bay. Pitches come as grass or hard-standing with electric hook-up, and there is a small tent-only field on the levelest part of the park, plus seasonal pitches and secure caravan storage with a tow-in and siting service. Caravans, motorhomes and tents are all catered for, though there is no glamping and this is a steady touring park rather than a lively holiday complex, so it suits couples, families and anyone after a quiet base for exploring. On site you will find free hot showers, a laundry, a small shop, a children's play area and a dog-walking area, and dogs are welcome. Leacroft opens from April to October. One practical note, the streets through Colyton village are narrow and tight for towing, so follow the brown caravan signs from Stafford Cross rather than driving through the centre.

Good to know

Does Leacroft Touring Park allow tents?
Yes, although Leacroft is mainly a touring caravan park, there is a small tent-only camping area set on the levelest part of the grounds. Grass and hard-standing pitches with electric hook-up are available for caravans and motorhomes, and the park also offers seasonal pitches and secure caravan storage with a siting service.
Are dogs welcome at Leacroft Touring Park?
Yes, dogs are welcome and there is a dedicated dog-walking area on the park. The surrounding East Devon countryside and nearby Jurassic Coast paths give plenty of room for longer walks, with Forestry Commission woodland right next to the site for easy strolls straight from your pitch.
Can you see the sea from Leacroft?
On clear days some areas of the park look out across Lyme Bay, though not every pitch has a sea view because the gently sloping grounds are broken up by hedges. The coast at Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth is a short drive away for proper beach days.
When is Leacroft Touring Park open?
Leacroft opens from April to October, covering the main spring, summer and autumn season. It does not open over winter, so it suits warmer-weather touring and camping trips. Booking ahead is sensible in peak summer and around the Sidmouth Folk Week in August, when the area gets busy.
How do you reach Leacroft with a caravan?
The streets through Colyton village are narrow with tight turns and are not suitable for towing, so avoid driving through the centre. Instead follow the brown caravan signs from Stafford Cross on the A3052, and the site is about one mile along on the right.
