About this site

Leadstone Holiday Park, still known to many as Leadstone Camping, is a traditional family run touring and camping site set across seven acres of rolling grass fields on Warren Road at Dawlish Warren in South Devon. The same family has run it since 1974, and it keeps things deliberately simple, with open, spacious pitches spread over gently sloping fields rather than a packed commercial park. Tents, caravans, motorhomes and roof tents are all welcome, with electric and drinking water points around the site, and the big draw is the location, a flat ten minute walk from the Blue Flag beach and nature reserve at Dawlish Warren. A bus stop sits right at the entrance and a pub is only five to ten minutes away on foot, so you can leave the car parked up. Facilities include a clean, central shower and toilet block, and there is an on site food hut plus a dog wash, as dogs are welcome here. It suits families and couples who want a well kept, uncomplicated seaside base, and returning guests often request the same pitch year after year, so it is less suited to anyone wanting pools, clubs and constant entertainment. Leadstone opens for a spring to early autumn season, and you can book directly through the park's website.

Good to know

Is Leadstone Holiday Park the same as Leadstone Camping?
Yes, it is the same family run site. Leadstone Camping now trades as Leadstone Holiday Park, on the same seven acre grass fields on Warren Road at Dawlish Warren. The family has run it since 1974, and the traditional, uncommercialised feel remains the same.
How far is the beach?
The Blue Flag beach and nature reserve at Dawlish Warren are about a ten minute walk from the site, along mostly flat, safe paths. That makes it easy to head to the sand without driving, and there is a bus stop right at the park entrance for exploring further afield.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome at Leadstone Holiday Park, and there is even a dog wash on site for sandy paws after the beach. The nearby Dawlish Warren beach and nature reserve give good walking, though do check seasonal dog restrictions on the beach itself.
What can I bring and what hook ups are there?
The site takes tents, caravans, motorhomes and roof tents on open grass pitches, with electric and drinking water points around the fields. It is a spacious, traditional camping layout rather than tightly marked bays, so there is plenty of room to spread out.
When is Leadstone open and how do I book?
Leadstone runs a spring to early autumn season rather than opening year round, so it is a warm weather site. Booking is done directly through the park's own website, and many guests request a favourite field or pitch, so early booking is wise for peak dates.
