About this site

Little Meadow Camp Site is a small, family-run campsite on a farm at Watermouth, between Berrynarbor and Ilfracombe on the North Devon coast, with one of the best sea views in the county. The site looks out over Watermouth Harbour and Combe Martin bay to the Hangman Hills of Exmoor, the Bristol Channel and, on a clear day, the Welsh coast beyond; porpoises are sometimes spotted offshore. There are 50 individually marked, generous grass pitches for tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, set on flower-bordered terraces, with electric hook-ups available. The South West Coast Path runs close by, a bus stops at the entrance and there is a pub about half a kilometre away, with Ilfracombe just five minutes down the road. The owners describe it as uncommercial and green, so you get a clean shower block, a small shop, WiFi, a washing machine and a wooded, traffic-free play area rather than pools, bars and entertainment. That makes Little Meadow a good fit for families and couples who want quiet camping, coastal walks and sea views, not a lively holiday park. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads, with a separate dog exercise field. The site is open from late March to the end of September and bookings are taken through its online booking system.

Good to know

What are the views like at Little Meadow?
The site has some of the best sea views in Devon, looking out over Watermouth Harbour and Combe Martin bay to the Hangman Hills of Exmoor, the Bristol Channel and the Welsh coast beyond. Porpoises are sometimes seen offshore, and the pitches sit on flower-bordered terraces facing the sea.
Is Little Meadow Camp Site dog friendly?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Little Meadow. They should be kept on leads around the pitches, but there is a separate dog exercise field where they can run more freely. The nearby South West Coast Path also makes the site a handy base for coastal dog walks.
What pitches and hook-ups are available?
There are 50 individually marked, generous grass pitches for tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, arranged on flower-bordered terraces, with electric hook-ups available. It is run as a small, uncommercial farm site, so pitches are spacious and quiet rather than packed in like a large commercial park.
How far is Little Meadow from Ilfracombe and the beach?
Ilfracombe is about five minutes down the road, and the site overlooks Watermouth Harbour on the North Devon coast. The South West Coast Path runs close by, a bus stops at the entrance and there is a pub around half a kilometre away, so you can get about without driving.
When is Little Meadow open?
Little Meadow Camp Site is open from late March to the end of September, so it operates through the main camping season rather than all year. Bookings are taken through the site's online booking system, where you can check live availability before you travel to North Devon.
