About this site

North Morte Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a family run coastal site at Mortehoe, near Woolacombe on the North Devon coast, that has been welcoming campers since the 1940s. It sits in spectacular clifftop countryside with direct access to the South West Coast Path and sea views across the fields, only around 500 yards from Rockham Beach and a five minute walk from Mortehoe village, which has pubs, shops, a tearoom and takeaways. Camping is spread over several sloping fields where you choose your own pitch on arrival, taking tents, campervans and motorhomes, though these camping fields have no electric hook up and are not laid out in marked bays. Touring caravans and motorhomes wanting power use separate hardstanding pitches with electric hook up, and there are static holiday homes for hire as well, all with sea views. Facilities include free hot showers, a launderette, dishwashing, a well stocked shop and a children's play area. The three miles of golden sand at Woolacombe, a popular surfing beach, are close by, so this suits beach lovers, walkers and families rather than anyone after nightlife on the doorstep. Worth knowing that Rockham Beach itself has been closed, though other beaches are within walking distance. North Morte Farm opens for the main season from spring, and booking is advised, especially for touring pitches.

Good to know

Is there electric hook up for tents at North Morte Farm?
No, the tent camping fields at North Morte Farm do not have electric hook up, and pitches are chosen on arrival rather than marked out. Touring caravans and motorhomes wanting power use separate hardstanding pitches that do have electric hook up.
How close is the beach?
Rockham Beach is only about 500 yards away, reached on foot, though it has been closed recently, so check before relying on it. Other beaches are within walking distance, and Woolacombe's three miles of golden sand, popular with surfers, are a short drive or walk away.
Are dogs allowed?
Well behaved dogs are welcome on the camping and touring pitches at North Morte Farm, with the South West Coast Path right on the doorstep for walks. Dogs are not allowed in the static holiday homes, however, so bring your own accommodation if travelling with a dog.
Can you just turn up or do you need to book?
Outside the school holidays campers can often just arrive between 9am and 7pm and pick a pitch, but booking is advised at busy times and for touring pitches. On weekends with a good forecast it is best to call the site ahead of your visit.
When is North Morte Farm open?
North Morte Farm runs a main holiday season from spring rather than opening all year, and the family confirm they are open for 2026. The site is popular in summer thanks to its coastal setting, so booking ahead for peak dates and touring pitches is sensible.
