Why campers love it here
About this site
North Morte Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a family run coastal site at Mortehoe, near Woolacombe on the North Devon coast, that has been welcoming campers since the 1940s. It sits in spectacular clifftop countryside with direct access to the South West Coast Path and sea views across the fields, only around 500 yards from Rockham Beach and a five minute walk from Mortehoe village, which has pubs, shops, a tearoom and takeaways. Camping is spread over several sloping fields where you choose your own pitch on arrival, taking tents, campervans and motorhomes, though these camping fields have no electric hook up and are not laid out in marked bays. Touring caravans and motorhomes wanting power use separate hardstanding pitches with electric hook up, and there are static holiday homes for hire as well, all with sea views. Facilities include free hot showers, a launderette, dishwashing, a well stocked shop and a children's play area. The three miles of golden sand at Woolacombe, a popular surfing beach, are close by, so this suits beach lovers, walkers and families rather than anyone after nightlife on the doorstep. Worth knowing that Rockham Beach itself has been closed, though other beaches are within walking distance. North Morte Farm opens for the main season from spring, and booking is advised, especially for touring pitches.
