About this site

Nostell Priory Holiday Park is a five star touring and holiday home park set within the National Trust's Nostell estate, a few miles south east of Wakefield in West Yorkshire. The park combines a touring area of around 40 hardstanding pitches, all with 6A electric hook up, alongside a separate development of caravan holiday homes, so it works both for touring visitors and for owners of a static base in Yorkshire. Touring caravans, motorhomes and tents are all accepted, and the surrounding parkland gives direct access to woodland trails, a lake and the historic Nostell house and gardens. On site you will find clean heated shower and toilet blocks, a small shop, a launderette, a hairdressing salon and a bowling green, which is more than many touring parks offer. Up to two dogs per pitch are welcome, and the estate walks make it a strong pick for dog owners and families who like the outdoors. Anyone wanting a lively resort with pools and evening entertainment should look elsewhere, as the appeal here is the quiet, leafy setting and the National Trust surroundings. Nostell Priory sits close to Wakefield, Leeds and the M1 for easy access. The park is open from mid February to mid January, with pitches booked through its own booking system.

Good to know

Does Nostell Priory allow tents?
Yes, tents are welcome alongside touring caravans and motorhomes on the touring area, where pitches are hardstanding with 6A electric hook up. This sits separately from the caravan holiday homes on the park. Tent campers get the same access to the shower blocks, shop and estate walks.
Are dogs allowed at Nostell Priory Holiday Park?
Yes, up to two dogs per pitch are welcome. The park sits within the National Trust Nostell estate, so there are miles of woodland and parkland walks on the doorstep. Dogs should be kept on leads around the pitches and the public areas of the estate and cleaned up after.
Is Nostell Priory suitable for families?
Yes, families are welcome and the estate setting suits children who enjoy walks, wildlife and open space, with the National Trust house, gardens and lakeside paths close by. The park is quiet rather than a resort, so there is no pool or evening entertainment, but plenty of room to explore.
Is Nostell Priory a touring park or a holiday home park?
It is both. Nostell Priory has a touring area of around 40 hardstanding, electric pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, plus a separate area of caravan holiday homes. Touring visitors and holiday home owners share the facilities, including the shop, launderette and bowling green on site.
When is Nostell Priory open?
The park is open from around mid February to mid January, closing for a short winter break. It suits early season and autumn touring as well as summer. Booking ahead is wise for weekends, bank holidays and National Trust event dates, when the touring pitches are in strong demand.
How far is Nostell Priory from Wakefield?
Nostell Priory lies a few miles south east of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, just off the main Wakefield to Doncaster road, with the M1 close by. Wakefield city centre, Leeds and the wider region are an easy drive, and the National Trust estate is right on the park.
