Why campers love it here
About this site
Old Manor Farm Certificated Site is a five van Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site on Shore Road at Hesketh Bank, laid out over three quarters of a level acre of gardens and woodland on a designated Biological Heritage Site. Hesketh Bank sits on the flat land behind the Ribble estuary, and there is an RSPB reserve a little over a mile from the site, with the Martin Mere wetland centre five miles away, Southport six miles and Preston ten. The village is a mile and a quarter down the road for a Booths supermarket and a fish bar, and steam trains run most Sundays on the light railway nearby. As a Certificated Site it takes up to five caravans or motorhomes and up to ten tents, on grass or hardstanding, with electric hook up for £5 a night on top. The Club lists it as member exclusive, so sort your membership before you book, and anyone after a big park with a bar and evening entertainment should keep looking. What lifts Old Manor Farm above the facility list is the produce: jams, jellies, chutney, free range eggs and firewood, sold in season from the farm, alongside a woodland walk and a children's play area. The site is open all year, fire bowls hire for £5 a night with a £20 deposit, and pitches start from £14 a night for two adults and two children.
