Why campers love it here
About this site
Plane Trees Farm Caravan Site is a small Certificated Location under the Caravan and Motorhome Club, set on a working family farm at Lower Shelf near Halifax in West Yorkshire. It has just five grass pitches, each with its own electric hook up, water tap, drain and levelled flags so caravans do not need levelling blocks, and it takes caravans and motorhomes rather than tents. The farm has been worked by the same family for three generations, with a focus on animal welfare and low food miles, and a farm shop is under construction on site. This is a quiet, low key spot with long distance countryside views, better suited to self-contained tourers after a peaceful base than to anyone wanting bars or on-site entertainment. Dogs are welcome. For days out, Halifax is close for the Piece Hall and the Eureka children's museum, Shibden Hall is nearby, and Bronte country and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway are within easy reach, while Bradford, Huddersfield and Leeds are all a straightforward drive. Plane Trees Farm opens seasonally from 1 April to 31 October and does not open all year. Pitch fees are paid to the owner, so check current prices through the Caravan and Motorhome Club listing.
