Why campers love it here
About this site
On the working farmland around Fishlake, north-east of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, Plumtree Hill Farm keeps a small five-van certificated location for touring club members. It is a caravan and motorhome pitch rather than a tent site, set in the flat, watery landscape between Fishlake and Stainforth where the countryside is all big skies and quiet lanes. The River Don and the Stainforth and Keadby Canal are close for towpath walks, and Thorne Moors, a vast lowland peat reserve, lies a few miles east for birds and wide horizons. Fishlake and Stainforth villages, a couple of miles off, cover a shop, a pub and daily basics. Doncaster, about six miles south-west, handles shops, the racecourse and the trains. This is a peaceful, workaday farm stop for self-reliant tourers, not a holiday park. Because the site publishes little online, get in touch with Plumtree Hill Farm to confirm current opening, hook-up and prices before you set out, and remember it is a members-only pitch near Fishlake.
