Why campers love it here
About this site
Plymouth Sound Club Campsite is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site set on a headland at Down Thomas, just outside Plymouth in South Devon. Its 62 touring pitches take caravans and motorhomes only, with no tents, a maximum outfit length of 9 metres, and a season that runs roughly late April to early October rather than all year. The South West Coast Path, a sandy beach and a dog-friendly pub sit within easy reach, and there is a dog walk on site, which makes Plymouth Sound a strong pick for dog owners, walkers and couples. Tent campers are out of luck, and because there is no toilet block you need a fully self-contained caravan or motorhome. Electric hook-ups, a motorhome service point, Wi-Fi and BBQ areas are provided, along with a small play area. The Plym Valley Cycleway, Plymouth's historic Barbican and dockyard, the National Marine Aquarium and National Trust Saltram are all short drives away, with Dartmoor further inland. Non-members can book, though Caravan and Motorhome Club members pay lower pitch fees.
