Why campers love it here
About this site
Poole Farm is a Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location on the Devon and Cornwall border, taking just five caravans or motorhomes on a quiet working-farm setting near St Giles on the Heath. It lies at Druxton, a few miles from Launceston, with the River Tamar and easy access to both counties from the surrounding lanes, so it works as a peaceful touring base rather than a big facilities park. As a five-van Certificated Location it is open to Caravan and Motorhome Club members only, and it is run as an adults-only, over-eighteens site, which rules it out for families with children and for tent campers, since there are no tent pitches. Electric hook-ups are available and dogs are welcome. The farmhouse itself, dating to 1892 and refurbished in 2015, also runs as a well-regarded bed and breakfast, so non-touring members of your party could book a room. The setting suits walkers and cyclists who like quiet lanes and river banks, and Launceston, Dartmoor and the north Cornwall coast are all within a comfortable drive. Poole Farm opens as a Certificated Location from April to October. Club membership and advance booking are both needed, so sort your Caravan and Motorhome Club details before you arrive.
