About this site

Rooley Farm Certificated Location is an adults-only Caravan and Motorhome Club CL near Sowerby Bridge, a small, flat five-van site with far reaching moorland views. It sits on Rooley Lane at Sowerby (HX6 1NS), high above the Calder Valley and partly screened by trees and farmland. Sowerby Bridge is the nearest town, with its train station roughly 2 miles down the hill, and the Rochdale Canal and River Calder are about 2 miles away. The Calderdale towns and villages, including Ripponden and Halifax, are within easy driving distance, and buses to Halifax run within a mile. The site takes up to five caravans or motorhomes on grass pitches, with 16 amp electric hook-up available. Because Rooley Farm is adults-only, it suits couples and solo tourers wanting a calm, scenic base, and it is not set up for families with children or for tent campers. Facilities are simple: battery charging, an information room and recycling, with good TV reception. Dogs are welcome. Owners Dave and Leslie run a peaceful, tidy site that reviewers return to for the views and the quiet. You need to be a Caravan and Motorhome Club member to book. The season runs from late March to the end of October, and booking is arranged through the Club.
