Why campers love it here
About this site
Rosewall Camping is a family run tents and campervan site on a south facing hillside above Osmington Mills, near Weymouth on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The 13 acre field sits a few miles east of Weymouth, close to the South West Coast Path, and looks out over Weymouth Bay and rolling countryside, so most pitches come with a sea view. The whole site slopes, which means a genuinely flat pitch is hard to find, but pitching is relaxed and unmarked, so you pick your own spot with room to spread out. Rosewall takes tents, campervans and motorhomes only, with no touring caravan pitches and no electric hook-ups, and the owners welcome families, couples and coast path walkers. Two modern toilet blocks have showers, disabled facilities, laundry and a seasonal shop stocking gas, freezer packs and basics. On site there is horse riding and coarse fishing lakes, and The Smugglers Inn is within walking distance down at the Mills. Dogs are welcome for a small nightly charge. The site gets busy in peak season, so it suits people using Weymouth as a base rather than anyone after total quiet. Pitches start from £15 a night for a solo adult tent, booked through the operator's online system, and fire pits are usually allowed, though a temporary ban applies in very dry weather.
