Why campers love it here
About this site
Sea View Campsite is a peaceful, family-run farm campsite near Slapton in South Devon, set on gently sloping fields with grass pitches and long views across the countryside to the sea. It sits close to Slapton, roughly 7 miles from both Dartmouth and the market town of Kingsbridge, with Salcombe about 12 miles away. The three-mile dog-friendly beach at Slapton Sands is walkable across the site's own meadows, and the blue-flag Blackpool Sands is a short drive. There are grass pitches with and without electric hook-up for tents, caravans and campervans, plus a self-catering chalet for those who would rather not camp. Larger motorhomes over 6m are not recommended because of the narrow surrounding lanes, so big-van owners should take note. What stands out is the deliberately uncommercialised feel: no tarmac roads or street lights, a quiet time between 11pm and 7am, and a communal campfire for toasting marshmallows under dark skies. Run by the same family for over 30 years, Sea View Campsite suits campers who want stars, space and coast walks rather than clubhouses. The site opens for the summer season, with pitches booked through the operator.
