Why campers love it here
About this site
Ashbourne Woods is a woodland camping site spread across 68 acres near Rattery and South Brent in South Devon, on the southern edge of Dartmoor. The site specialises in wild and semi wild camping, with pitches tucked among the trees and a firepit on every pitch, so evenings around an open fire are part of the deal. Alongside the woodland tent pitches there are gravel pitches for campervans and caravans with electric hook up and water near the reception area, where you will find toilets, showers and a laundry and washing up room with hot and cold water. Glamping and overnight stays are also offered. To protect the ground, vehicles stay off the grass and wheelbarrows are provided to ferry your kit to the pitch. Ashbourne Woods suits campers who want fires, dark skies and space for children to roam, and it will not suit anyone after level hardstanding across the whole site, a large shop or a lively holiday park. Dogs are welcome. The woodland setting, genuinely secluded pitches and campfires are what make it stand out from the average field. South Brent and the moor are close, with the South Devon coast within reach. Ashbourne Woods runs a spring to autumn season and is booked online through the site's booking system.
