About this site

Slightly Nomadic is a small, adults-only camping spot beside a lake at the base of Albourne Estate Vineyard, near the village of Albourne in West Sussex. You will find it open on selected summer weekends only, a field away from the South Downs National Park and about a mile from the centre of Albourne. There are two ways to pitch up: take one of the pre-pitched tents with breakfast included, so you travel light, or bring your own tent and gear for a grass pitch by the water. Every pitch at Slightly Nomadic has its own fire pit, and logs are sold on site for evenings around the flames. During the day you can paddle the lake in the site's kayaks at no extra cost, or walk across the fields to nearby village pubs. Facilities are basic and honest: composting toilets and pop-up hot showers, plus a hub tent with a wood burning stove for cooler nights. This is not a spot for children and not a spot for dogs either, so families and pet owners should look elsewhere in West Sussex. It suits couples and small groups of walkers or cyclists after a quiet, adult trip. Only a handful of weekends run each summer, so check dates well ahead.
