Why campers love it here
About this site
Smithy Farm Campsite is a small tents only site on a working farm at Esprick, out on the Fleetwood Road in the Fylde, sharing its ground with an animal park and a farm shop. The farm sits on flat, quiet Lancashire farmland between Kirkham, about three miles south, and the coast, with Blackpool and its Pleasure Beach roughly nine miles west and Preston about eleven miles east, so you get a proper rural field with the resort inside a twenty minute drive. Pitches are for tents only, with electric hook up available and a toilet and shower block on site. Dogs are welcome and campfires are allowed, which is rarer than it ought to be and a genuine reason to pick Esprick over a bigger park; caravan and motorhome owners, though, will need to look elsewhere, and the site does not run through the winter. The animal park is the other draw, with alpacas, goats, Shetland ponies, pot bellied pigs and free range hens for children to meet, and the farm shop sells fresh Lancashire produce a short walk from your tent. Smithy Farm now runs its bookings and updates through its Facebook page rather than a website, so message the farm there, or ring, for current prices and opening dates before you travel.
