Why campers love it here
About this site
Stafford Moor Fishery is a coarse and carp fishing park with touring pitches and holiday lodges set across a 67 acre estate near Dolton and Winkleigh in North Devon. Now owned and run by Charteroak, the site wraps around 35 acres of well stocked lakes fringed by tall pines, with seven lakes to fish including the Beatties specimen water. For touring, there are nine hardstanding electric hook up pitches with their own water and waste, each looking out over a lake, plus a shower and toilet block reserved for pitch guests. Note that this is a caravan and motorhome site, with no tent pitches, and the real draw is the fishing rather than a busy family holiday park, so it best suits anglers and anyone after a quiet lakeside base. Alongside the pitches, Charteroak hire out luxury Canadian style lodges, some with hot tubs, if you would rather not bring a van. The setting is genuinely peaceful, with kingfishers and robins around the water and both Dartmoor and Exmoor within reach for days out. Stafford Moor is open all year, and touring pitches start from £32 per night for two people including electric and water, with dogs staying free, up to two per pitch. Book through the Charteroak website or by phone.
