Stanah House Caravan Park

Stanah House Caravan Park is a small, family run touring and camping park on River Road at Thornton-Cleveleys, sitting alongside the River Wyre with Blackpool 20 minutes down the road. The family moved to Stanah in the 1960s to farm, and father and son built the caravan park from the ground up in 1978; it is still a family business today. The stretch of the Wyre here is known for its birdlife, with walkers and birdwatchers using routes that start just outside the entrance, and Thornton centre is a five minute drive for the Co-op, the chippy and a few restaurants. Caravans go on hardstanding pitches with grass alongside for awnings, and there is a separate tent field with both electric and non electric pitches. On site you get a stocked shop selling food and camping bits, a utility room with a washer and drier, a pot washing area and chemical disposal. Dogs are welcome. This is a quiet, relaxed park rather than a holiday complex, so if you want a clubhouse and evening entertainment, the bigger Blackpool parks will suit you better. Caravan pitches are £22 a night with prices fixed all season and no charge per person, tents start at £16, and Stanah House closes in November and reopens on 1 March. Booking is by phone.
