Sunnymead Farm

Sunnymead Farm is a small, friendly family-run campsite set in four acres of countryside between Mullacott Cross and Woolacombe in North Devon, roughly three miles from both Woolacombe's award-winning surf beach and the Victorian resort of Ilfracombe. Run by Sarah and Peter Lock, the site holds four AA pennants and keeps things old-fashioned, with just 36 large, level pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes plus two static caravans in their own private gardens. Many pitches look out over the fields to the sea at Lee Bay and across to the Welsh coast. There is a reception and small shop, showers and toilets, a dishwashing area and a children's play area, with open central space left for ball games. Dogs stay free of charge, and a bridlepath from the site links up with miles of footpaths and the South West Coast Path. This is a quiet, low-key base for exploring North Devon and Exmoor rather than a big park with a pool and entertainment, so families wanting on-site activities should plan for days out. The bus stops on demand at the entrance, which helps if you would rather not drive. Sunnymead Farm opens from mid-March to the end of October. Solo campers, hikers and cyclists can email or call for discounted rates, and it is worth booking ahead for summer.
