About this site

The Barton pairs a proper working dairy farm with an easy-going touring pitch in the quiet village of Weare Giffard, set in the Torridge Valley near Bideford in North Devon. This Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location covers just under an acre, with large hardstanding pitches, room for awnings and a wide 15-foot gateway; lawned grass pitches open up in the summer months. Every pitch has an electric hook-up, a toilet block was installed in 2018, and WiFi costs £1 a night on a first stay and is free for returning guests. It is a members-only site for caravans and motorhomes, with no tents. By arrangement you can watch the milking and meet the calves, and there are ponies and Pygmy goats in the neighbouring paddock. Two sandy beaches lie less than five miles away, RHS Rosemoor, Bideford and Great Torrington are each about three miles off, and the Big Sheep attraction and an award-winning village pub are close by. The Barton is a relaxed base for exploring the Torridge Valley and the North Devon coast. Members book through the Club.
