Why campers love it here
About this site
The Farm Burscough is a campsite on a working farm at Martin Lane in Burscough, near Ormskirk, sharing the yard with a farm shop, tea room and 4 star B&B in a converted 18th century brick barn. You are on the flat West Lancashire mosslands here, about five miles from Southport and five from the market town of Ormskirk, with Liverpool city centre roughly 40 minutes away by car. Pitches come as hardstanding or grass, all with electric hook up available, and there are shower and toilet facilities on site, which covers caravans, motorhomes and tents equally. It is worth being straight with you, though: this is a busy farmyard with a tea room pulling day visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, so if you want a silent spot on an empty fell, Burscough is not it. What you get instead is a proper farm on the doorstep, with a walk taking in the lake, the hens, the goats, the alpacas and two donkeys called Walter and Tommy, plus a farm shop selling local and home grown produce and a licensed tea room serving until 3.30pm. Pitches start from £20 a night per pitch, and campsite bookings at The Farm Burscough are taken by phone on 01704 894889.
