Washington Caravan and Camping Park sits at the foot of the South Downs in the village of Washington, West Sussex, with Chanctonbury Ring rising directly above the site. Storrington is about two miles away and Steyning around three and a half, so you are within easy reach of shops and pubs in both directions, and the beach at Worthing is a six mile drive south. The park takes tents, caravans and motorhomes, with 29 hardstanding pitches (six of them fully serviced) plus grass pitches for up to 80 tents, and electric hook-up on offer throughout. Washington suits walkers and cyclists tackling the South Downs Way, which runs close by, as much as families touring the coast, though the site sits near the road, so you will hear passing traffic rather than total silence. The park stays open all year and dogs on leads are welcome at no extra charge. A noise curfew after 11pm keeps things civil, and open fires are not allowed directly on the grass, though you can bring or hire a fire pit and stand it on bricks or a slab. The two shower blocks, heated in the main field, are a step up from a basic field toilet. Prices are quoted through the operator's own booking system.
