About this site

Woodland View stands out among small club sites for one simple reason, it has electric hook-up, which many certificated sites do not. It is a Camping and Caravanning Club certificated site at Hoylandswaine, a village on the Pennine fringe between Penistone and Barnsley in South Yorkshire, and it takes tents, caravans and motorhomes on a tidy, peaceful field. The surroundings are gentle farmland on the edge of the hills, with the eastern Peak District a short drive west and walking country close at hand. It leans towards couples and tourers after quiet and a view rather than families chasing entertainment. Penistone, about two miles off, has shops, a market and a station on the scenic Penistone railway, while Barnsley is roughly six miles east and the Trans Pennine Trail is close for a day on foot or by bike. Dogs are not accepted. Woodland View opens for the main season from spring, so book with your Camping and Caravanning Club membership and check current dates before setting off for Penistone.
