About this site

Wyming Brook Farm is a small certificated site on a working beef and sheep farm that the same family has farmed since 1911, high on the western moorland edge of Sheffield in South Yorkshire. The camping is a gently sloping one-acre field with open countryside views, taking up to five caravans or motorhomes and around ten tents, with six electric hook-up points. There is one firm rule to plan around, the site has no toilet or shower block, and you must bring your own portable toilet or the owners will not take the booking. Get past that and the location is the reward, because Redmires Reservoirs and the Wyming Brook nature reserve are right on the doorstep, and the Peak District boundary sits just to the west. Walkers and cyclists can set off straight from the gate onto the moors and reservoir tracks, and a bus into Sheffield city centre, about five miles east, runs nearby. Dogs are welcome. Pitches start from £20 a night without electric and £25 with a hook-up, and bookings are taken by email, usually answered the same day. Wyming Brook Farm suits self-sufficient campers who want quiet, views and easy access to the hills, not anyone needing on-site facilities.
