Why campers love it here
About this site
Yew Tree Farm Camping is a back to basics, tent only site on a working farm at Stretton, near Alfreton in east Derbyshire. You are about a 30 minute drive from the Peak District National Park, with Matlock, Chatsworth and Bakewell all within easy reach for a day out, and junctions 28 and 29 of the M1 close by. There are just 10 spacious grass pitches, each for tents only with no electric hook up, and no vehicles are allowed on the field at any time, so you park separately and walk your kit in. That keeps things quiet and lets younger campers roam. This suits tent campers and families after a simple, unfussy stay, so it is not the spot for caravans, motorhomes or anyone needing a pitch beside the car. Campfires are allowed, which is the real draw here, and toilets, showers and an undercover washing up area stay open 24 hours. Dogs are welcome on a lead. Yew Tree Farm is open all year, with pitches from £10 per adult a night and booking handled online.
