About this site

Abbey Gate Farm Certificated Site is a small five pitch caravan and motorhome site on a working farm at Axminster in east Devon, run as a members only Certificated Site for the Camping and Caravanning Club. It has panoramic views over the Axe Valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, sitting close to the Devon, Dorset and Somerset borders, one mile from Axminster town and around five miles from Lyme Regis, Seaton and the Jurassic Coast. All five pitches are double width hardstanding with a 16 amp electric hook up, reached by a concrete drive and stone track, so there is no getting stuck in the mud. There are no toilet or shower facilities on site, which is why the site takes caravans and motorhomes only and does not accept tents. Well behaved dogs and children are welcome, with lane walks towards Axminster or up to Trinity Hill Nature Reserve, and a hail and ride bus and Axminster railway station both nearby. What stands out is the quiet farm setting with big valley views and easy all weather access. Abbey Gate Farm is open all year, membership of the Camping and Caravanning Club is required, and booking ahead is advised by phone.

Do you have to be a Camping and Caravanning Club member?
Yes, Abbey Gate Farm is a members only Certificated Site for the Camping and Caravanning Club, so you must be a current member to stay. It is a small five pitch site, and booking ahead by phone is advised as space is limited.
Is Abbey Gate Farm open all year?
Yes, the hardstanding pitches and concrete and stone access make Abbey Gate Farm suitable for stays all year round. The double width pitches drain well and avoid getting stuck in mud, so it works for off season touring as well as summer trips.
