Why campers love it here
About this site
Alison House Certificated Site is a small Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site in the grounds of Alison House, a Georgian property set in seven acres of gardens at Cromford, near Matlock Bath in Derbyshire. As a certificated site it is members only and limited to five caravans or motorhomes, with a few tent pitches, so it stays quiet and uncrowded. The setting is what makes it: you are inside the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, a short distance from Sir Richard Arkwright's Cromford Mill, the Cromford Canal and the start of the High Peak Trail. Electric hook-ups are available on the pitches, and the house itself sits in mature parkland with room to stretch out. This suits Club members touring the southern Peak District who want a tidy, well-kept base rather than lots of on-site facilities, and it is handy for the shops, cafés and cable car at Matlock Bath. The site opens seasonally from April to October, and you book directly with Alison House as a Camping and Caravanning Club member.
