Why campers love it here
About this site
Bakewell Camping and Caravanning Club Site is an away-from-it-all Club Site at Youlgreave, on Hopping Lane in the Peak District National Park, about five miles from the market town of Bakewell. Its big distinguishing feature is that it has no toilet or shower block, which keeps it peaceful and appeals to self-contained campers and caravanners who want space and quiet even in high season. There are around 100 pitches with water, electric hook-ups and chemical disposal on site, but you will need your own onboard facilities. The approach is along a narrow lane through Youlgreave, so care is needed on the way in, and the earliest arrival time is 1pm. The reward is a genuinely rural spot close to Lathkill Dale, the traffic-free Monsal Trail for walkers and cyclists, and the medieval splendour of Haddon Hall. Bakewell itself, with its Monday market and famous pudding, is a short drive or a bus ride away. Bakewell Camping and Caravanning Club Site opens from the start of April to early November, and pitches are booked through the Camping and Caravanning Club, where member pricing is quoted.
