Why campers love it here
About this site
Cockingford Farm Campsite spreads across three riverside fields on a small Dartmoor farm at Widecombe in the Moor, in south Devon. The East Webburn river runs along the bottom of the site, and the same family has farmed here for more than a century. There is room for tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans, plus a glamping pod known as the Valley View Pod, with electric hookups available. Fire bowls can be hired and firewood bought on site, dogs are welcome on leads, and a small self service farm shop sells eggs, milk, clotted cream and other local produce. Toilets and showers are provided. Walk to the top of the third field for views across the Widecombe valley to the open moor, good for sunsets and stargazing. Widecombe village, with its two pubs and cafe, is about a half hour walk away, and Ashburton, Bovey Tracey and Trago Mills are a short drive. Cockingford Farm Campsite opens from mid March to mid November and suits campers who want Dartmoor on the doorstep.
