About this site

Back of Beyond is an award winning, adults only touring, camping and glamping park set in 30 acres of Dorset countryside at St Leonards, close to Ringwood and the edge of the New Forest. The park keeps a deliberately natural feel, with 18 acres of woodland and private lakes, wild planting and space to unwind rather than manicured lawns. Pitches range from grass and all weather astroturf to large fully serviced hardstandings, and glamping runs from cosy pods to shepherd huts, wooden lodges and a yurt, some with their own fire pit and decking over the water. As an adults only site (over 18s), it does not take families with children, which keeps things calm and quiet. Dogs are genuinely looked after here, with woodland where they can roam off the lead, a dog wash and treats in the shop. Monty's Bar brings a lively evening atmosphere until 8pm, and visiting takeaways, a licensed shop, pitch and putt and boules round out the on-site extras. The New Forest National Park, Bournemouth's beaches and the wider Dorset and Hampshire countryside are all a short drive away. Back of Beyond opens from late February through to New Year. Touring and camping pitches start from £31 a night, with glamping from £75 a night, booked through the park's own system.

Good to know

Is Back of Beyond adults only?
Yes, the park is exclusively for adults aged over 18, so families with children are not accommodated. This keeps the 30 acre site calm and quiet, with a focus on relaxing in nature, woodland walks and evenings spent around a fire pit or at Monty's Bar.
Are dogs allowed at Back of Beyond?
Yes, dogs are very welcome, with woodland where they can run off the lead, a dog wash on site and treats in the shop. Dogs are charged a small nightly fee, and both touring pitches and most glamping units accept them, subject to a two dog maximum.
Can you have a campfire or fire pit?
Yes, fire pits are part of the experience, and you can spend an evening watching the flames beside your pitch or glamping unit. The park publishes guidance on fire pits and barbecues, so check the current rules and any fuel arrangements with them when you book.
What glamping options are available?
The park offers glamping pods in several sizes, wooden lodges, shepherd huts, ensuite shepherd huts and a decorated yurt, some overlooking the wildlife lakes. Prices start from around £75 a night for a Kingfisher pod, rising for the lodges, huts and the ensuite units.
When is the park open and how much does it cost?
Back of Beyond opens from late February through to New Year. Touring and camping pitches start from £31 a night for grass without electric, with fully serviced pitches and glamping costing more. Bookings are made through the park's own online system rather than a third party.
How far is the New Forest and the coast?
The New Forest National Park is close by, and Bournemouth with its beaches is a short drive away. The park sits at St Leonards near Ringwood, so the countryside of Dorset and Hampshire and the south coast are all within easy reach.
