Why campers love it here
About this site
Buckland Campsite is a family-run camping and glamping site at Buckland Ripers in Dorset, set in open countryside about 15 minutes from Weymouth. The grounds sit within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the beach at Bowleaze Cove and the Weymouth seafront both a short drive away. Buckland Campsite has large grassy pitches with plenty of room to spread out, available with or without a 10 amp electric hook-up, and takes tents, trailer tents and smaller campervans. Because of licence conditions it cannot take large motorhomes or large touring caravans, so bigger units should look elsewhere. Furnished bell tents give a glamping option, each with electric, lighting and its own private shower and toilet, plus an off-ground fire pit. Campfires and barbecues are allowed when raised off the grass, and there is a small shop on site for basics. Reviewers regularly praise the tidy grounds, the clean facilities and the friendly welcome. The site is open from 1 May to 30 September, with bell tents available from 17 July to 31 August. Standard pitches at Buckland Campsite start from £18.50 a night, and bell tents are booked in three or four night blocks.
