About this site

Barn Farm is a family run campsite on a working farm at Birchover, in the Derbyshire Peak District between Matlock and Bakewell. The farm buildings date back to the 1500s and the site looks out over the beautiful Derwent Valley, with badgers and rare black fallow deer among the wildlife around you. You get separate areas for different ways of camping: grass fields for tents, plus hard surfaced all weather pitches for tourers, campervans, trailer tents and motorhomes, some with individual electric hook up and some with shared bollards. Do note that tents do not get electric hook up here, and tourers cannot pitch in the tent fields, so this is a site that keeps units and canvas apart. There are also luxury camping barns if you want a roof over your head. Walkers are spoilt, with the Limestone Way close by, Stanton Moor and the Nine Ladies stone circle within a stroll, and Robin Hood's Stride and Cratcliffe Rocks for climbers, while two pubs sit within a ten minute walk of Barn Farm. On site you get individual shower cubicles, a games room with a pool table and arcade games, a children's play area, a shop and even a sauna that is free for campers. The season runs from 1 April to 31 October, and you book directly through the Barn Farm Camping website.
