Beech Croft Farm

Beech Croft Farm is a small, family run caravan park and campsite between Buxton and Bakewell, high in the Peak District National Park. Owned and run by the Gregory family alongside a small sheep farm, it sits at Blackwell in the Peak, a tiny hamlet of around ten houses, with views out towards the rolling Derbyshire hills. The park has level hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook up and a water tap, plus a camping area with prepayment card hook ups, all served by an environmentally friendly heated toilet and shower block. A small on site shop sells basic provisions along with Calor and Camping Gaz. What makes Beech Croft stand out is the walking straight from the gate: it is on the Pennine Bridleway, with the Monsal Trail and the Limestone Way both close by, so you can leave the car and head out on foot or by bike. Nearby Taddington has a church and two pubs, and the Church Inn at Chelmorton is a half hour walk away across the bridleway. Bakewell, Buxton, Castleton and Chatsworth are all within easy reach for day trips. The site is open all year, which makes it a genuine option for off season touring in the White Peak.
