Bere Marsh Farm

Bere Marsh Farm is a 92 acre mixed farm and nature reserve run by the Countryside Regeneration Trust, close to the village of Shillingstone in the Blackmore Vale, North Dorset. The land sits between the River Stour and the former Somerset and Dorset railway line, now part of the North Dorset Trailway, and the Trust bought it in 2020 from the family of the late farmer and conservationist Angela Hughes. The farm is managed for wildlife, with nesting barn owls, a wildflower corridor and regular guided walks and creative workshops from spring through autumn. The Buzz Cafe, a volunteer run coffee trailer, opens on Fridays from 11am to 4pm, and the site also includes the Ham Down woodland burial ground. The Countryside Regeneration Trust website does not currently advertise a public campsite, marked pitches or nightly prices at Bere Marsh Farm, so anyone hoping to camp should contact the Trust directly to check what, if anything, is offered. Shillingstone village, with its shop and pubs, is a short distance away, and Blandford Forum is a short drive south. This is a conservation farm first, so visitors come mainly for the wildlife, the trailway and the cafe rather than a conventional camping trip.
