About this site

Blackbrook Lodge Caravan & Campsite is a quiet 12 acre park in the Derbyshire Dales, set in a sheltered little valley of grounds, gardens, a lake and two carp ponds. You will find it near Turnditch and Belper, within easy reach of Carsington Water, Ashbourne and Matlock Bath, and on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park. The site mixes touring and seasonal pitches with glamping pods and lodges, so you can arrive with your own caravan or tent or book a pod overlooking the water. It suits campers who want calm countryside and space, and it is genuinely dog-friendly across the grounds. Facilities are simple but well kept: free hot showers, a bathroom, an on-site essentials shop, with a supermarket about ten minutes away and pubs within walking distance for food. Fishing on the stocked lake and ponds is a real draw, and several good pubs sit within a couple of miles. Blackbrook Lodge is open all year, check-in is from 1pm, and you can book pods and lodges online or enquire directly by phone.

Good to know

Is Blackbrook Lodge dog-friendly?
Yes, the site is dog-friendly and welcomes dogs across its 12 acre grounds. There is plenty of open space to walk them and a network of local footpaths from the gate, including a walk the owners can point you towards that leads to a nearby country pub.
Do you have glamping pods?
Yes, alongside touring and seasonal pitches there are glamping pods and lodges to book. Some pods overlook the water, so if you would rather not bring a tent or caravan you can still stay, and you can book pods and lodges online through the operator site.
Is the site open all year?
Yes, Blackbrook Lodge is open all year, so you can visit in any season. Check-in is from 1pm and check-out is 11am. It works as a base for the Peak District, Carsington Water and the Derbyshire Dales market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock.
Can I go fishing on site?
Yes, the park has a leisure fishing lake and two ponds stocked with carp, set within the grounds. Fishing is one of the main reasons people return, and there is also a resident population of ducks and geese around the water for a relaxed atmosphere.
What facilities are on site?
Yes, there are free hot showers and a bathroom block, plus an on-site essentials shop for basics. A larger supermarket is about ten minutes away by car, and there are pubs within walking distance if you would rather eat out during your stay.
