Blackmore Vale Caravan And Camping Park is a rural touring park on the A30 at Sherborne Causeway outside Shaftesbury, Dorset, and it now trades under the name Shaftesbury Country Touring Park. The park sits roughly 2 miles west of Shaftesbury town centre, the hilltop town known for Gold Hill and its abbey ruins, and the operator points guests towards Longleat, Stonehenge and Durdle Door for day trips. There are two park areas: the larger, Lakeview, is a 19 acre field with a lake on it that takes bigger caravans and motorhomes as well as tents of any size. Electric hook-up is available at £5 a night on top of the pitch fee. Dogs are welcome and the park aims at relaxed family camping, so it is not an adults only bolthole, and no glamping appears on the price list. What lifts Blackmore Vale above the usual roadside field is the fully licensed Londis mini supermarket on site, which is rare on a rural touring park and saves a run into Shaftesbury for milk. Facilities cover showers, accessible toilets and showers, laundry and good vehicle access.
