About this site

Blagdon Fruit Farm is a family run farm campsite at Coldharbour, Chickerell, less than a 10 minute drive from Weymouth and its beach. The campsite is open all year with hardstanding pitches, and grass pitches are added from spring through to autumn, all with electric hook up and water taps located around the site. A tent field sits adjacent to the caravan and motorhome area, with electric available if you ask when booking. Facilities are honest rather than extensive: toilets and showers, a washing up area, chemical waste disposal, a recycling and waste area, and a farm track dog walk. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and walked only on that dog walk, because there is livestock on the farm. What sets Blagdon Fruit Farm apart from a plain field outside Weymouth is the farm itself. Pick your own fruit and vegetables runs through the summer months subject to availability, fresh farm eggs are sold all year, and the Blagdon Tea Room opens Tuesday to Sunday from June to September for light refreshments including Dorset cream teas. The views are of the farm, its animals and the wildlife rather than the sea, and the site is a deliberately quiet one. Pitches are priced for two adults and two children under 12 and include electric, prices are not published, so phone the farm to book. Cash preferred, with low season discounts.

Good to know

Is Blagdon Fruit Farm campsite open all year?
Yes, the farm says its campsite is open all year round, with hardstanding pitches available throughout. Grass pitches are offered from spring through to autumn, all with electric hook up and water taps located around the site, so winter tourers get hardstanding and summer campers get the wider choice.
Are dogs allowed at Blagdon Fruit Farm?
Yes, dogs are welcome on the campsite. The farm asks that they are kept on a lead at all times regardless of temperament, and walked only on the provided farm track dog walk, which is there to protect the livestock grazing around the site at Chickerell. Please stick to that rule.
Can you pitch a tent at Blagdon Fruit Farm?
Yes, there is a tent field adjacent to the caravan and motorhome area. Electric is available in the tent field, but the farm asks you to enquire about it when you book rather than assume it. The site has toilets, showers, a washing up area and a chemical waste point.
How much does Blagdon Fruit Farm cost?
The farm does not publish nightly rates on its website. Pitches are priced for two adults and two children under 12 and include electric hook up, and Blagdon Fruit Farm asks you to phone for current prices and availability. Discounts are available in low season, and the farm is cash preferred.
How far is Blagdon Fruit Farm from Weymouth beach?
Weymouth is less than a 10 minute drive from the farm at Coldharbour, Chickerell, which puts the beach, the harbour and the Jurassic Coast within easy reach. The site itself is quiet, with views over the farm, its animals and the surrounding wildlife rather than out over the sea.
Is there a cafe or shop on site?
Yes, the Blagdon Tea Room is open Tuesday to Sunday from June to September and serves light refreshments including Dorset cream teas. Pick your own fruit and vegetables runs through the summer months subject to availability, and fresh farm eggs are on sale all year round for breakfast.
