Why campers love it here
About this site
Bridport Bingham Grange is a large Caravan and Motorhome Club campsite at Melplash, three miles inland from Bridport and West Bay on the Dorset stretch of the Jurassic Coast. The site has been closed for a large scale redevelopment and reopens on 20 July 2026 with a new licensed cafe, a new facilities block and the first 50 pitches on the upper eastern part of the campsite, with the remainder coming back into use later in August. Bookings are already open for touring and tent pitches. Once fully open, Bingham Grange offers standard hardstanding and grass pitches with electric, serviced and premium hardstandings, electric grass tent pitches (maximum tent size 5m by 5m) and camping pods, alongside an Experience Freedom village of glamping pods, cabins and safari tents. Facilities run to a bar, Wi-Fi, a play area, laundry, family and accessible washrooms, baby changing, a motorhome service point, drive over waste disposal, electric vehicle charging, and dog and bike washes. There is a dog area plus dog walks on and from the site. Bridport, West Bay, Charmouth and Lyme Regis sit west, Dorchester and Weymouth east, so this works as a touring base rather than a stay put resort. Current Club offers price children aged 5 to 17 at £1 and let under fives stay free. Serviced pitches carry a £4.90 nightly supplement and prices are quoted through the Club booking system.
