Caalm Camp Yurt Camping

Caalm Camp is a family-run luxury yurt glamping site on a former dairy farm at Stour Row, near Shaftesbury in north Dorset, with six hand-painted Mongolian yurts and no touring or tent pitches. The yurts sit in a secluded, fenced field with views over open countryside, close to the hilltop town of Shaftesbury and its famous Gold Hill, and within reach of Longleat, Stourhead and the Wiltshire and Somerset borders. Each yurt sleeps up to six on comfortable beds, has its own wood-burning stove, and comes with a private heated wet room in the converted hay barn, plus a fire pit, barbecue and picnic table outside. Guests share a large, well-equipped kitchen and a games room with pool and table tennis, and children can use the playground on a traffic-free site that lets parents relax. This is glamping only, so it does not take tents or caravans, and dogs cannot come along except for guide dogs, which rules it out for most pet owners. Wheelchair-accessible facilities, EV charging and campfires add to the appeal, and Caalm Camp stays open all year for weekends, midweek breaks and longer stays.
