Why campers love it here
About this site
Callow Top Holiday Park is a family run, award winning caravan and camping site on the edge of the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District, just outside Ashbourne. The park sits in open green fields about a 15 minute walk from Ashbourne town centre, with Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton all within easy reach and Alton Towers around 20 minutes away by car. You get spacious, well spaced pitches that take anything from a backpacker tent to a large family unit, plus caravans, campervans and motorhomes up to 9 metres, and there are self catering cottages and apartments if you fancy four walls. Do note that tents do not get electric hook up here, as all the electric pitches are hardstanding. What makes Callow Top stand out is the on site Callow Inn, which pours real ale from its own Bad Ram brewery, alongside a heated outdoor swimming pool (open May to September), a coarse fishing lake, a shop and direct access to the Tissington Trail cycle route straight from your pitch. Reviewers rate the site for its spotless facilities and generous pitch spacing, though it is a big, busy park rather than a quiet countryside hideaway. Dogs are welcome. The park opens from Easter to November, and you can check prices and book through the Callow Top website.
