About this site

Cannington Cottages And Campsite is a small farm site at Uplyme on the Devon and Dorset border, a short drive from Lyme Regis, where camping is currently paused. Charlotte and Chris took over Cannington Farm at the start of summer 2024, and the farm's own camping page now says they are taking a year out from hosting camping while they improve the environmental and agricultural side of the farm, working to a biodiversity plan. The camping page has gone from the menu and the sitemap, and two holiday cottages plus weddings and events are the current offer. The farm sits in a quiet valley on Cannington Lane, just north of the Cannington Viaduct, with the Cobb and the beaches of Lyme Regis a few minutes away by car and the village pub at Uplyme closer still. Under its previous owner the campsite ran for more than 20 years with room for up to 30 tents and 3 caravans, toilets, hot showers, laundry and drying, and pets welcome by arrangement, so returning campers will find things changed. Axminster is the nearest railway station, with hourly trains between Exeter and London, and the X51 and X53 buses reach Uplyme, a 25 minute walk from the farm. Cannington Cottages And Campsite is not taking camping bookings for now, and the farm invites people to check back in future.
