Cherry Cottage Certified Location is a five pitch Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location on the edge of Middlemarsh, a small rural village in central Dorset, run small and quiet on purpose. The site lies 7 miles south of Sherborne and 14 miles north of Dorchester, both of which have mainline railway stations, and the CR5 bus route linking Yeovil, Sherborne and Dorchester runs close by, so the car can stay on the pitch. There are 2 extra long hard standing pitches and 3 spacious, level, well drained grass pitches positioned for countryside views and sunsets, with a maximum of 5 units on site at any one time. Every pitch has electric hook up and its own water tap, and reasonable electricity use is included in the pitch price (use above 7kWh a night is charged at cost, 27p per kWh). Club membership is required and there are no tent pitches, so this Dorset site suits touring caravans and motorhomes rather than campers under canvas or anyone wanting a big park with a bar and a pool. Beyond the facility list there is a garden toilet, a laundry room (small charge), complimentary fast WiFi, a coded entrance gate with CCTV, an information hut with a book exchange, and a dog walk around the hay meadow: two dogs per pitch, on leads for the neighbouring livestock. Cherry Cottage CL is open all year and prices are quoted through its own online booking system.
