Why campers love it here
About this site
Cheston Caravan and Camping Park is a small, quietly run touring and camping site on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park, close to the village of South Brent in South Devon. The park has been held by the same family for years and keeps things simple and well maintained, with 24 pitches, hardstandings suited to motorhomes, electric hook ups, and a toilet and shower block. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all taken. The setting is the main draw: open Dartmoor countryside is on the doorstep for walking, with South Brent's shops and pubs a short drive away and Ivybridge, Totnes and the A38 within easy reach for days out across South Devon. With little light pollution this side of the moor, it is a genuinely good spot for stargazing on a clear night. Cheston suits couples and quiet families who want a calm, tidy base for Dartmoor rather than a park with pools, clubs or organised entertainment, so look elsewhere if you need on-site activities to keep a group busy. The park runs from spring through to the end of October. The site's own web address is currently offline and redirects elsewhere, so bookings, dog and age policies, and current pitch prices are best confirmed directly by phone or through the park's Facebook page.
