About this site

Churchill Farm Caravan and Campsite is a small, friendly working farm site on the hill between Buckfast and Buckfastleigh in South Devon, with panoramic views towards Dartmoor. Run by the Pedrick family, this beef and sheep farm keeps a couple of neatly trimmed paddocks for camping, so expect open country views, quiet nights and a proper farm welcome rather than a big commercial park. There is space for around 25 tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-ups, drinking water points and spotless shower and toilet blocks that reviewers regularly single out. It was named AA Small Campsite of the Year in 2015 and holds excellent guest ratings, which tells you plenty about the standards. The site suits couples and families who want peace, walks from the gate and easy access to Dartmoor rather than on-site entertainment, so it is not the place for anyone chasing pools or clubs. Buckfast Abbey, the South Devon Railway steam line, the otter and butterfly sanctuary and the edge of Dartmoor are all close, with Totnes and the coast at Blackpool Sands within a short drive. Churchill Farm opens seasonally, roughly late May to mid-September, so book ahead for summer stays near Buckfastleigh in South Devon.
