About this site

Conkers Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a woodland campsite set in the National Forest at Moira, near Swadlincote in south Derbyshire. This is a club owned site run by the Camping and Caravanning Club, though non members are welcome to book too. It sits right next to the Conkers Visitor Centre, and hundreds of square miles of National Forest spread out around you, with walking and cycling trails leading straight from the site, including the Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail along a former railway line. There are grass and hardstanding pitches to suit any unit, from tents and trailer tents to caravans and motorhomes, with electric and non electric options, roomier jumbo pitches and super service pitches with water and drainage. Modern facilities include a family shower room, accessible toilets, a motorhome service point, washing machines and a small shop for essentials. Dogs are welcome and there is a designated dog walk, so Conkers suits walkers, cyclists and families alike. Days out are easy from here: the Conkers Visitor Centre has an adventure play area and a miniature railway, Twycross Zoo is about a 20 minute drive and Calke Abbey is within reach. The site is open all year, and members pitch from £11.30 per adult per night, booked through the Camping and Caravanning Club website.

Is Conkers in the Peak District?
